CREATION OF THIS FAMILY TREE

In 1980, Lloyd Clark retired and began a life long dream to research his family history. Receiving an overwhelming response from many family members, he compiled this database of family history and biographical information. Using a standard typewriter and small personal copier, Lloyd published his first family history volume in January of 1985. He sent copies of the family tree to all interested family members and published a monthly newsletter updating family with new information and family highlights. He received many letters from family members and printed them in the newsletter.

Lloyd died October 11, 1991. In his memory, I have compiled the data he collected to a database and subsequently this website. It was his wish that all family members have access to and update their information on a regular basis. As a family member, this website allows you to do just that. Please keep his dream alive!

The following dedication and acknowledgments are from his original publication.

Gail (Clark) Griffin

DEDICATION:

From the First Edition, January 1986:

"To those brave pioneers whose courage, self-discipline, determination and
love of the land is our great legacy, and to Leo F. Clark. We all stand in debt
to Leo F. Clark, (my father's brother) who inspired me at a very early age to
compile these pages. His commendable interest in family history, family
scrapbooks and photo albums, together with membership in the Kansas State
Historical Society, practically made my inspiration an obsession. He organized
the annual Kansas Old Settler's Day and was instrumental in inspiring his
Mother to write the narrative 'Early Days Along the Solomon Valley'. https://www.kansasmemory.org/item/221606/page/10883

In addition to those mentioned in this volume, I wish to thank the following descendants for their help and encouragement in the research of the history:

Samuel C. Clark, Ruby M. Morningstar, Alice M. Splitstone, Ruth M. Samuels,
Percy R. Clark, Thelma Sheel, Ralph Feather, Jessie Blair, Gaye Maring,
Juanita Wagner, and Delma Kimsey."

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
